SENIOR CELEBRATION - Class of 2025

 

Graduation Season is HERE!

 

It's hard to believe graduation month is here!

 

We have many exciting events planned! Please note, all events are free to all graduating seniors (except Prom tickets, which students previously purchased).

 

For your information, please see many details below about the upcoming events and schedule. We understand this is a lot of information, but there are so many details that must be communicated in order to make this experience extra special. 

 


 

Upcoming Events for Senior Students

Wednesday, June 18th, 10:30am

Senior Week Kick-Off/Yearbook Signing/Big BBQ Bash

  1. Following Yearbook Distribution, there will be a catered BBQ Lunch, games and prizes, DJ and more from 10:30am-1:30pm.
  2. In order to receive a yearbook, students MUST return their chromebooks, including their cords!

 

Thursday, June 19th, 10:30am 

Mandatory Graduation Rehearsal in Gym

  1. Distribution of Graduation Tickets and hold slips (for debts/fines).
  2. Each family will receive 2 Graduation tickets, in case the ceremony is held indoors due to inclement weather.

Monday, June 23, 5pm 

Senior Prom

  1. Bus Transportation to and from MHS (funded by SC2025)
  2. Buses depart MHS promptly at 5:00pm. 
  3. Buses should return to MHS by ~11:00pm 

Tuesday, June 24, 10:30am 

Mandatory Outdoor Graduation Rehearsal - Report to Gym

  1. Caps and gowns distributed.
  2. Grab and go lunch provided for students after rehearsal. 

 

Wednesday, June 25 

Graduation

  1. Weather-permitting, the ceremony will be held in the back field (football field/stadium) and students will be able to bring unlimited guests.
    • Tickets are not necessary.
  2. In case of inclement weather, graduation will be held indoors
    • Each student will have 2 tickets (distributed at the graduation rehearsal on Thursday, June 19).
    • If the ceremony is held inside, you must bring your tickets with you to be admitted.
  3. Indoor or outdoor ceremony and any possible weather delays will be communicated by the MHS Administration accordingly.

Graduation Timeline:

  • 9:00am — Class of 2025 meets in their seats in the gym
  • 9:30am — Seniors line-up
  • 9:50am — Procession begins 
  • 10:00am — Graduation begins
  • The graduation ceremony should be about two hours in duration

Helpful Graduation Information for Families:

  • Arrive EARLY. Traffic will definitely be a consideration. Graduates march in at 9:50am!
  • Disabled guests will have special seating on the track and may have one family member accompany them.
    • There should be enough seating to accommodate these guests.
    • There is no reservation necessary for this seating.
    • Parking for disabled guests is by the baseball field. If ceremony is inside, then park by gym.
  • Professional photographers will be capturing the entire ceremony and each graduate will be photographed receiving their diploma.
    • These pictures will be available to be downloaded for each family’s personal use to be printed out and/or shared electronically free of charge.
    • Pictures will be uploaded to the online gallery and additional correspondence will be sent.
  • The graduation ceremony will be live-streamed. Look out for correspondence from the school administration on how to view the livestream.

Helpful Graduation Information for Students:

  • Arrive EARLY. Traffic will definitely be a consideration. Students need to be in their seats in the gym by 9:00am.
  • DO NOT bring valuables.
  • No sunglasses or anything that distracts from the decorum of the ceremony.
  • Graduation caps cannot be decorated.
  • Acceptable attire includes shirts & ties; dress slacks, dresses.
  • Do not wear shorts, flip flops, heels.
  • Do not bring handbags.
  • Bring hair pins/bobby pins to keep the graduation cap on.   
  • Diplomas are picked up after the ceremony in the new gym and they will be organized by your homeroom.
    • Remaining diplomas are picked up in the main office and students must arrange pick-up with Dr. Miron’s secretary, Teresa Blumstein.
  • Caps, gowns and of course, diplomas are yours to keep.

Wednesday, June 25 
Senior Cruise 

  1. Arrive to MHS by 6:30pm; buses return to MHS around 1am.
  2. The SC2025 committee has worked many hours this year to provide a safe ALCOHOL and DRUG-FREE event for all our graduates.
  3. Dress Code: Collar shirts and dress pants or dress shorts are preferred. Please no sandals or flip flops, no heels, no cutoffs or T-shirts or jeans.
  4. Evening Cruise around NYC with lots of exciting onboard activities (funded by SC2025).
  5. Class of 2025 MHS Graduates only - sorry no guests.

Senior Visits to Elementary Schools

Elementary school teachers are so proud of our graduates and would love to catch up to see what they've been up to since they left and hear plans for post-graduation!

 

Students are invited to visit the schools below to say hello to former teachers and have a photo opportunity. Feel free to bring pictures, yearbooks, and memories from their elementary school years.

The Senior Celebration 2025 BBQ & Yearbook Signing was a HUGE success. Thank you to everyone who made this event so special and successful. The Class of 2025 gathered together to sign yearbooks, enjoy a delicious bbq lunch, including a visit from the ice cream truck, play nostalgic Strawberry Festival games, win prizes, and reminisce over their years together and all the memories they've made.

 

We could not have pulled off this extraordinary event without the help of some amazing volunteers and the support from MHS staff. Special thanks to Bernie for all his help, Marty and the custodial staff, as well as Mrs. Siegel and Dr. Miron. Thank you to our awesome parent volunteers and cake walk bakers/contributors:

A huge THANK YOU to Amy Talbert and Neena Jindal for chairing the Class of 2025 Flocking Fundraiser! Flocking is a fun tradition where plastic flamingos adorn the lawns of participating senior families. It's fun for everyone and we are thrilled so many families participated.
